Losing the primary voice mic on a shoot is catastrophic. Your camera mic may work for nat sound or to sync up a separate audio file, but it just won’t do for the final show. Coming to the rescue is Premiere’s new Enhance Speech capability. “Enhanced” is something of a misnomer. We all know that the existing voice track is way beyond help. But what Premiere’s AI does is use that to train a synthesized version of the voice, as clean as a studio recording. Still need some nat sound behind it? You can mix in as much or as little as you want. Adobe reports that the newest Premiere release will have a five-times faster timeline response thanks to some under-the-hood tweaking that’s been taking place.
