Effects with Substance More and more often, visual effects and 3D elements need to work hand-in-hand. To help with that, Adobe After Effects is becoming more of a true 3D workspace. Soon, you’ll be able to bring 3D models from other programs into After Effects natively. Plus, it now will include a hefty selection of pre-built Substance 3D models (no Substance subscription required) to start you out with a robust 3D object library to work with. To make that a little easier on your hardware, more 3D processing is being handed off to the GPU. The AI brainpower behind the popular Roto Brush is getting smarter and faster, with more ways to refine the brushes output. Now, the tool can be used for rotoscoped color grading. Another big 3D plus is the way After Effects handles environmental lighting. You can create a virtual 3D studio, moving lights around and changing their color and filtering to get just the effect that you want in a more natural way that mimics a real-world environment.
