126 MacDirectory CLOSER LOOK TARGUS > TRAVEL-FRIENDLY BAGS Targus, a leading online retailer of bags and computer accessories, recently introduced check-point friendly laptop cases. The Zip- Thru line of cases is designed for travelers to leave electronics in during airline check- points — allowing minimal damage to equipment, and reducing the chances of a laptop being stolen during the security screening process. "Our Corporate Traveler line is already a favorite case among business travelers, and adding the new Zip-Thru feature makes it a must-have for anyone who travels with a laptop," said Al Giazzon, vice president of marketing at Targus. "The new Zip-Thru Corporate Traveler laptop case is the lightest in its class, and features our patented SafePort Air Cushion System, which helps to prevent laptop damage if the bag is dropped or bumped. The unique combination of features emphasizes our dedication to delivering unsurpassed solutions, making the traveling experience smoother and more efficient for travelers." Designed with the same features as the lightweight and durable Corporate Traveler laptop bags, the Zip-Thru cases' patent- pending design splits the case down the middle, thereby isolating the laptop on one side to allow for clear X-ray scanning. The bag also provides ample space for accessories, files and other devices needed by today's frequent flyer. For maximum comfort during travel, the Zip-Thru 15.4" Corporate Travel laptop case includes a padded ergonomic shoulder strap with non-slip coating to keep the case in place. The first Zip-Thru case will be available in black and made of durable ballistic 1680 denier nylon. It measures 16.93" x 6.5" x 13.98", weighs 3.74 pounds and has an MSRP of $99.99. Four different models of the Zip- Thru cases are currently available on the Targus site ranging in price from $50 to $100. Targus' Air Traveler is lightweight, offers leather-wrapped handles, and includes an ergonomic, non-slip shoulder strap and trolley strap for attachment to rolling luggage. It also comes in two sizes — the 15.4" and the 17" models. In addition, the case includes all of the best features of Targus business cases: a dedicated file section, zip-down workstation with business card holder, pen loops, key clip and multiple accessory compartments to keep items organized. The Mobile Elite has padded nylon handles, and includes a non-slip padded shoulder strap and trolley strap for attachment to rolling luggage. In addition, the case includes a dedicated file section, zip-down workstation with business card holder, pen loops, key clip and multiple accessory compartments to keep items organized. The Zip-Thru 15.4" Traditional clamshell case splits down the middle, isolating the laptop on one side to allow for clear x-ray scanning. It is lightweight and includes a removable, adjustable, padded shoulder strap, a carry handle, and a trolley strap for attachment to rolling luggage. Traditional cases include a spacious exterior file pocket with phone sleeve, pen loops and key clip, and interior pockets with room for files, mobile accessories, business cards and more. Early reviews of the Targus travel friendly series indicate that the bag does reduce time at the airport, carries lots of equipment easily and holds up well in a punishing environment.
