Microsoft Lens If you’ve stayed with us this far, we have a gift waiting for you. Microsoft Lens is a true hidden gem of an iPhone/iPad app for anyone who must attend either classes or meetings. Just about everyone has figured out the trick of taking photos of whiteboard notes or PowerPoint presentations to avoid transcribing them to notes. Microsoft Lens takes that trick one step further by letting you quickly polish them up after the fact and save them as Word docs, PDFs, or keep them as photos. It gives you a perspective-correcting box to flatten images taken at odd angles back into a page, filters to just as quickly convert the image for optical character recognition (OCR) printing. They then can be exported as variety of formats. If you have access to Microsoft OneNote or other optical character recognition software, clear enough printing can be converted into editable text. Microsoft Lens is available free from the App Store. For more information, visit: apps.apple.com. Images courtesy of Microsoft
