On May 9th, 2023, Saber Interactive released an announcement stating the release of SnowRunner onto macOS platforms later this year. Ever since DiRT 4 was ported to Mac in 2019, we’ve been long overdue for a good off-road experience. So grab your boots and gasoline cans, we’re about to go off-roading. SnowRunner Mac release date So far we haven’t received an exact release date, but Saber Interactive promises that the SnowRunner Mac port will be released within this year. All the information we know so far comes straight from their official website, and there has been no further word of it since. Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment aren’t well known for doing Mac ports, so it will be interesting to see how they do. Not a lot of information has been released about the game’s technical details as well. But on the bright side, they seem to be heavily invested, supporting Metal upscaling, crossplay, and controller usage, so we have high hopes for its incoming macOS performance. Mac System Requirements & Download More information is needed about the official Mac System Requirements for SnowRunner. We’ll keep an eye out for any announcements regarding this topic. As shown on Saber’s Interactive website, they have confirmed that SnowRunner will be available on the Mac App Store. It will also be available on Steam and Epic Games as well. Hooray for no exclusivity! About SnowRunner SnowRunner is a game that focuses on a realistic off-road driving experience. Similar to one of Death Stranding‘s premises, there is a large emphasis on the life of a delivery person, with many missions revolving around delivering goods, rescuing stranded vehicles, or just struggling to dislodge your own car from the mud. Vehicle choices and customization matter because what car you have can be the difference between an easy drive up a mountain or being stuck on the first hill. SnowRunner also has a cool function where you can swap into a different car in your fleet whenever you want. So if you ever get stuck in a river, you can drive a different vehicle to pull yourself out. It also supports four-player online co-op, so you can have your friends drag you out instead as well. Just make sure to warn them about that patch of mud before they get stuck as well. This game is uncompromising, aiming to hit you with everything mother nature has to offer. And the satisfaction you get from beating those odds is exactly why people play SnowRunner. No wonder the game has been so well received. SnowRunner Is Bringing The Party To Mac Most of the games ported to Mac are usually single-player games. Not that single-player games are bad, but the lack of multiplayer games can make the Mac gaming experience a lonely one. Sometimes, games are meant to be played with friends. Especially in modern times where friends can be made through such interactions. While SnowRunner is no game-changer or CSGO-levels of popularity, it still has excellent gameplay, crossover support, and two million active players. It contains the formula for a solid multiplayer activity with your mates on a Friday night. And if your friends aren’t into long hellish drives through the snow, there are still two million other players online for you to meet instead. You could say it helps to bridge the gap between the PC and Mac gaming communities. So while small, SnowRunner is still a game worth noting. What’s next Stay tuned as we’ll inform you as soon as we know more about the Mac version of the game, including a definitive release date, details on what will be included in the Mac release of the game, and more.
