positive tactile feedback but it is notably quiet, something those sitting beside you in that client meeting will appreciate. As it is also the case with the full-size MX mice, the Anywhere 3S features its unique Magspeed scroll wheel. It can switch between a rachet mode, great for spreadsheet and word processing work where you’re often moving line-by-line, to a very fast smooth scroll at up to 1,000 lines per second. By default this is done with the button just below the wheel, but that control can be assigned to other functions. The mouse can also be set to automatically shift to smooth and scrolling when it senses you need to travel fast and far. How sensitive it is to this variation is selectable. Even in ratchet mode, the wheel has a very nice notion of velocity and momentum. It never feels like you’re losing control over the motion. The scroll wheel also serves as a middle button, when needed. On the left side and under right-handers’ thumbs are two additional buttons that can be assigned to any function that you may desire or deactivated if you prefer. The Anywhere 3S connects via a USB-C port located conveniently on the front of the front. This can be used for charging and connectivity. A charge will last for up to 70 days, according to Logitech, and we found that it hibernates effectively when its not in use. If you somehow manage to let it run down, a one-minute charge will provide up to three hours of use. All the preferences for the MX Anywhere are handled through the Logi Options+ application, an extremely versatile management center that serves all your Logitech peripherals. It lets you link the applications you have on your system to make the actions app-specific. The nicely-designed app makes it very easy to take advantage of the Logitech hardware’s wide range of features in a way that’s graphic and intuitive. The MX Anywhere is available in black, graphite, rose and white. The side surfaces have a nice, rubberized, no-slip surface that tends to hang on tenaciously to oil from your hands, from a neatness standpoint, graphite or black may be the best bet. And, if you order the mouse direct from Logitech, they’ll include a neat little travel pouch.
