Apple Updates Siri Remote Firmware2 By Sergio Velasquez Out of nowhere, Apple released a new firmware update for the Siri Remote. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information about this update, so we aren’t completely sure why Apple released it. However, we can speculate that this firmware update fixed some minor issues and bugs, and it likely brought some improvements to the remote’s performance. However, Apple doesn’t always specify what improvements we’re supposed to see. Keep in mind that this firmware update is only available for the Siri Remote that Apple released in 2021. If you have an older remote, you won’t see any updates. The 2021 Siri Remote came out alongside the Apple TV 4K and the Apple TV HD, but you can also buy it as a separate remote. If you do have one, your Siri Remote should be automatically updated with the help of your Apple TV. There’s nothing you need to do to update your remote other than have it connected to your Apple TV. You’ll know your Siri Remote has been updated if you go to your Apple TV settings and search for your remote’s information. The new firmware version is 9M6772, and if you see 10M1103 or other numbers, you still have an older version.
