The famed greeting card company, Hallmark, was a newcomer to the MAX exhibit hall and its presence was telling. When we stopped by, they were leading a calligraphy workshop for a group of artists. As we spoke to two of the company reps who were in attendance, we learned that Adobe products are a big part of their design workflow (as are Macs). There was something of an ulterior motive to their presence at the conference: with the volume of and variety of what they produce, they are always in need of top-notch graphic talent. There is no better place to find such a large collection of it under one roof. We also stopped by BenQ’s display to hear about a new display that made its debut at the show. The SW272U 27”, 4K monitor is designed specifically for the needs of photographers and video editors, boasting new technology and new software. It’s unique, fine-coated panel resists glare, but keeps the image tack sharp. It can also reproduce 99% of Adobe RGB gamut (and Ben-Q’s software will let you compare it side-by-side with sRGB). Palette Master Ultimate combines hardware and software calibration. In the way of convenience, it’s flat metal base has a leatherette padding, giving you back some desk space and there are two USB-C ports, an SD card reader and headphone jack located under the front of the display as well as HDMI, USB-C and B ports on the rear. BenQ’s useful Hotkey Puck G3 has gone wireless, so you have fingertip control wherever you want it on your desk. It comes with a hood for consistent viewing regardless of you lighting environment. The list price of $1,599.99, it compares favorably with the Apple Studio Display (with its anti-glare option), presenting a far better value. Regardless of which of their products you use and how you may use them, Adobe MAX is always a memorable experience. You not only have a chance to see the newest products, get expert training, and find copious amounts of inspiration, but have a chance to meet peer creatives from all over the world, chare ideas, discover common values and have a tremendous amount of fun in the process. And if you couldn’t be there in person and missed the live webcasts of the keynotes, they are still available online. This is also the case with many of the great product and training sessions. And online access to MAX is always free, no fees, hotel reservations or plane tickets needed! Firefly_notice – Adobe’s new AI alert BenQ’s new wireless Hotkey Puck (image courtesy BenQ)
