Computer History Museum A Trip Down Memory Lane By Ric Getter Having worked in and around the computer industry for over forty years with nearly half of that time spent in the midst of Silicon Valley, it was a little too easy to fall into the bias that a visit to Mountain View, California’s Computer History Museum would be more nostalgia than enlightenment. My journey took me from command lines to macOS Ventura, from an Amdahl mainframe to a Mac Studio. Though not seeing it all, I felt that I saw a lot. My first reality check came in the form of a long banner outside the museum’s entrance: Revolution – The First 2000 Years of Computing The rest weren’t long in coming.
