But more importantly, it was recently announced that The Medium will have a native port for Apple Silicon devices later this summer. The developers also proudly stated that they will be taking full advantage of Metal’s software capabilities to deliver the highest quality graphics for us Mac gamers. Announcements like these really show how far the Apple community has come in the gaming world. Now, what else should we know before The Medium becomes native to Mac? The Medium Mac Release Date No specific dates have been announced so far, only that the Mac port for The Medium will be coming in the summer of 2023. Mac System Requirements Currently, no official system requirements have been announced. But they have repeated several times that it will be natively available for Apple Silicon. These should include both M1 and M2 machines. If other native Apple Silicon games are any indication, even lower-end M1 MacBook Airs and Mac Minis should be included. Presumably, we will find out more as we get closer to its release date. Why is The Medium on Mac a big deal? Out of all the announcements out there, why is this one so important? Firstly, it shows how far the Mac gaming community has come. In the past, we would have to struggle to find games that were native to Mac, since most of the popular titles were only for Windows platforms.
