To be honest, Apple doesn't have the greatest track record when it comes to mouse design. From its early insistence that a single button is all you need, to the space-age design of the Magic Mouse that really needs third-party software (like Andreas Hegenberg’s slick Better Touch Tool) to use it to its best advantage. But for Logitech, mice were always one of its greatest strengths. Its new MX Master 3S, shows that they know just as much about the needs of a Mac user as they do about mice. Being duly impressed by its debut at last fall’s Adobe MAX, the company let us give one a test drive at home. Out of the box, a sticker directs to you a Logitech website that runs the initial setup app. The obvious intent is to smooth out the journey through all the security clearances that the power-mouse needs to operate. For us, “smooth” wasn’t the best description and the program needed to loop through the permissions requests a few times to get things settled in. (When we connected it to a second computer a few days later, things did run more smoothly.)
