Like most graphics apps, Art Text 4 is based on a layer paradigm, with each separate object, such as a group of letter or words, resides on a separate one. The layers stack view in the Content Panel on the left lets you select and reorder them. However, clicking on an any object in your image will automatically select the layer its on. There is essentially only one tool, the Selection cursor, and that keeps things fairly simple. The layers stack shares the same sidebar as the style gallery, shape library, and a collection of other content grouped under a less-than-obvious gear icon. These include libraries of backgrounds, gradients and light effects, direct access to your Apple Photos library, and to one other folder you may want to add. Art Text will suck in the contents of subfolders, but everything is in the same, potentially long, scrolling thumbnail list.
