Art Text 4 When Words Aren't Enough By Ric Getter There's no question that communication is returning to its visual roots. Everyone has a camera and emojis reveal feelings and intent once only possible in face-to-face conversation. But for a long time, designers and typographers have lived in a visual/verbal netherworld, finding ways to make text to say more than the words it represents. As useful as it now is, taking a feeling or idea and turning it to a text graphic is a talent that few have. The trick is to make it easy enough but still offer a range of expression that can be tailored to make it uniquely ours. This is the kind of challenge that BeLight Software delights in, and Art Text has always been a shining example of what the company does best. Art Text 4, the latest release, has some great new effects, and is loaded with new presets and templates. To get you started, the Gallery window leads you go a group of short YouTube videos that demonstrate some of the program's more unique features. The Design Gallery now has over four-hundred templates to get any project started (or provide inspiration). Some are available for purchase, but many are free downloads.
