If you follow Tower, you might recognize the design of the Mermaid—it's the same as the Tower Adventurer 2, the only difference is the color. The Mermaid comes with all the same features, only that it's rocking a new color—the bright turquoise will sure make some necks turn at the lake. This is a good-looking board! The Mermaid measures 10'4" by 32" by 6". It has a handhold at the front and one at the back, something that the Adventurer 1 was lacking. This is a great feature because if you fall off the board, you can grab any of these to get back on quickly. It also provides an easy way for two people to carry it. Tower has thought about everything, there is also a cargo net at front of the board. This is a great place to store a lifejacket or any other gear you might not want on you while paddle boarding. I like to keep my snorkeling gear close just in case I spot something cool in the water and want to dive in for a closer look. Made from durable military grade material, this board will last a lifetime, and best of all, after it's fully inflated it doesn't sag. It feels like you're standing on a solid surface, similar to plywood, and it's very stable. The stability makes it easy to practice yoga on the board, or for kids to give it a try. Afterall, it's never too soon to start paddle boarding. The board sits 6" above the water (typically similar inflatable boards sit at 4", which can cause the board to sag at the center) which means you will be high above the water at all times during paddle boarding. I absolutely loved the stability while paddle boarding. Tower has rubberized deck pad to keep your feet from slipping off the board. You'll go from paddle boarding on your knees, to standing in your feet in no time. There are many benefits to owning an inflatable board, iSUP's are easy to transport and even easier to store. I would recommend getting the entire package, because the board is not sold with the pump and a paddle—that's sold separately. Tower even sells a convenient electric paddle board pump that you can hook-up to your car's cigarette lighter and avoid pumping manually. Manually pumping is not as tough as you might think—it takes about 15 minutes to get to the desired PSI. Tower's direct to consumer business model allows prices to stay low, while still selling a premium board. Don't sacrifice design, functionality, and durability, to save a few bucks. Check out the Mermaid this summer and fall in love with stand up paddle boarding. For more information, visit: www.towerpaddleboards.com/kids-paddle-board
