The Walking Dead came along, the situation was reversed… Suddenly I was drawing the stuff that other media was basing on my creations. Robert Kirkman and I were in control. That's something I always want to retain now. Going back to working for other peoples' characters/creations is not for me anymore. Why would I, when I can create and be fully in control of my own? MD: How would you describe your career at this point in your life? My career as a comic book artist and illustrator has been a joy, and I hope it'll continue to be…! I mean, I get up every morning and relish the working day ahead. The Walking Dead has affected my career profoundly and opened so many new doors and avenues - so much so that I can now "relax" a bit and, as I said before, concentrate on projects that I REALLY want to do.
