ERICKSON STOCK > COMBINING IMAGES AND IMAGINATION
Combining three businesses under one
roof is the specialty of Erickson Stock.
The company shoots, maintains and
provides high-quality images for corporate
use all over the world.
The Erickson Web site says it all: "What
makes Erickson Stock different from other
stock agencies is the quality and style of
the imagery. Since the entire library has
been created by Jim Erickson over his
thirty-year career, it maintains a certain
consistency and integrity throughout.
"Erickson also has a staff of 20, including
editors, designers, salespeople and
production assistants. Although our niche
market lies in business and healthcare,
there are a wide variety of images and we
continue to grow into new industries."
Photographer Jim Erickson founded
Erickson Stock in 2002 hoping to create
an agency that offered quality images in
everything from animals to architecture.
Currently, the company offers more than
20,000 images for public consumption.
Erickson stock offers a wide variety of
work for potential customers to look at
from Texas tourism to Copenhagen
chewing tobacco. And Erickson works with
a wide spectrum of photography styles,
there are examples of monochrome shots
as well as moving portrait work.
Recently, Erickson released his fourth book
of photos titled,
China. "My goal was to
capture the spirit of business and in the
process we shot everything from Olympic
athletes to welders working on the street,"
Erickson said.
During the expedition to China, Erickson
produced photographs that delve into all
aspects of culture, including business,
shipping, transportation and athletics.
While it is easy to categorize the contents
of the photographs it is hard to describe
the beauty and artistry they convey. Erick-
son captured slices of life in China, from
the richness of the culture to the sense of
history that permeates the country.
"The single most compelling aspect of this
photographic journey for myself and the
crew was the eternal optimism of these
lovely, patient, and hard-working people,"
Erickson said.
While creating his many works of art,
Erickson has won over 100 awards from
publications and organizations such as
Communication Arts, Print Magazine, Photo
District News,
and Advertising Photogra-
phers of America.
He has also generated
enduring images for numerous blue chip
clients, including AT&T, American Express,
Bank of America, Cisco, Kodak, General
Motors, and L.L. Bean.
