MacDirectory 87 feature APPLE CHAngES THE worLd (AgAIn) Watch this Having covered all the basics of the new iPhones in a single fast-paced, tightly scripted hour, Tim Cook offered his predecessor a well-deserved hommage. The One More Thing, of course, was the Apple Watch. What Cook called, "the next chapter of Apple's Story" was introduced by a video. A series of dramatic close- ups of sculptured metal and Sapphire glass slowly reveal the one thing we never expected to see in a smart watch: a crown. There are and will be many smart watches. Apple, however, has designed the first truly brilliant one. Though not shipping until early 2015, the watch is bound to spoil the holiday shopping season for many of Apple's competitors. Though we all thought we knew what was coming, Apple hasn't lost its talent for creating a reality that is somehow always greater than our expectations.
