It was something of the best of both worlds. All the keynotes and many of the great sessions were available free online while creatives from all over the world were able to meet, mingle, find inspiration (as well as some great food) during the three days of the Adobe’s unique MAX conference at the L.A. Convention Center. Adobe was prepared for a somewhat smaller expected turnout for their first, post-pandemic MAX. It still had the feeling of a massive event, but it avoided spanning both wings of the gargantuan venue, which made things a lot more convenient for the attendees who, in previous years, sometimes had a quarter-mile walk between session. The keynotes were moved to the capacious and more comfortable Microsoft Theater next door which, when filled (as it always was) had the exact same vibe as previous years. It was a good call on all counts. In this issue, to celebrate the return of MAX to the world of spectacular live events, MacDirectory is bringing you enlarged coverage of the three days in L.A. in words and pictures, starting with the three keynotes and moving on to the Community Pavilion exhibit hall and wrapping up with our takeaways on where all this may be leadin.
