The iPhone 13 Is the Best-Selling iPhone of 2022, With Samsung in Second Place By Sergio Velasquez Since the dawn of the smartphone, Apple’s iPhone has been amongst the best in the world, and consumers know this. That’s why it’s also been one of the best-selling devices in the market. And this time, it seems 2022 won’t be any different. After just a few months of being released, the iPhone 13 lineup is already the most popular smartphone of 2022. The news comes from Francisco Jeronimo, Associate VP from IDC. Jeronimo revealed on Twitter the five most sold smartphones in the first quarter of 2022, and Apple should be pleased. Apple’s Taking Over the Market According to Jeronimo’s tweet, the iPhone 13 lineup is dominating the competition in the smartphone world. As you can see from the image, the iPhone 13 is the best-selling smartphone in 2022 so far. And what comes after the iPhone 13? Well, second place is the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Samsung makes its first appearance in third place with the Samsung Galaxy A12, but Apple comes back to the list with the iPhone 13 Pro. Samsung takes fifth place with the Samsung Galaxy A32. Unfortunately, we don’t know the exact numbers as IDC wouldn’t share that information at this time. However, based on Jeronimo’s tweet, we know that “Apple revenues from the iPhone 13 range totalled $42B (84% of total iPhone sales). @SamsungMobileleads in the low-end, but it only generated $3.6B (A12&A32).” This information tells us two things. First, both Samsung and Apple are dominating the market with their devices. Second, Apple’s smartphone is still the most popular device in the world. What’s impressive about this is that, despite the price of the iPhone (compared to Samsung’s devices on the list), people still choose to buy the most expensive iPhones available.
