Belight belightsoft.com BeLight’s Story: Survivor Counselling and “Bandera’s Smoothies” One of the first to come to our attention here at MacDirectory was BeLight Software. They took on a lot of the tasks graphics-oriented Mac users favor and released a string of user-friendly, easy-to-learn, and inexpensive applications such as Swift Publisher, Art Text, and leading up to Live Home 3D Pro. They also publish the utilities Get Backup Pro and Concealer. As everywhere in Ukraine, their lives changed on February 24, when Russian tanks rolled into the country and missiles, bombs and artillery shells began to fall. Odessa, being one of the country’s key shipping ports is a primary, albeit well-guarded, target. We reached out to them to get their stories of life during the invasion in words and pictures. Territorial Defense is the military reserve component of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Civilians in the cities are helping Ukrainian Armed Forces by doing their best to defend their hometowns. From February 24, I participated in various activities to support our resistance: fundraising money and buying different types of supplies for Odesa Territorial Defense, buying bags to fill them with sand, loading and distributing sandbags to different locations around the city, arranging anti-tank obstacles, the so-called hedgehogs–metal constructions that are spread around the streets to prevent tanks from moving.
