There are various ways to keep your home safe – complex home security systems, smart doorbells, good old-fashioned locks – but if you’re looking for a quick solution that will give you peace of mind at night, the C8C by EZVIZ is the camera you’ve been looking for. For a new homeowner, protecting their home is a priority, however, sometimes it can be overwhelming with so many options available, you end up with nothing—I’ve certainly been guilty of that. The C8C is an affordable smart outdoor security camera that is easy to setup, gives you an ample 360-degree view of your backyard or front porch, and has impressive night vision—so you can keep an eye on your home 24/7. One of the features that sets this camera apart from the rest is the pan and tilt capabilities. You can truly get a full view, and the camera captures 1080p high-definition videos and images, so you get sharp images day and night. Upon unboxing, you’ll see the C8C comes ready to be mounted. Use the drill template sticker included which tells you exactly where to drill without having to do any measurements. After it’s mounted, download the app, then scan the QR code on the quick start guide—this will speed up the setup process, and take you straight to where you need to be. Finally, after finishing the setup on your mobile device, you’ll be able to control the camera view, take a snapshot, and record a video—all from your phone. On the app, you’ll also be able to customize your “detection area”, so when there is motion detected in that specific area, you’ll get an alert. The C8C connects vias WiFi but can also connects directly with an Ethernet cable. Make sure to install the camera near a weatherproof power AC outlet, otherwise you won’t be able to power it on. And what do you do with all that footage? EZVIZ gives you two options. Cloud storage is available for a monthly cost, or you can use your own MicroSD card (which goes right on the camera). With three night-vision modes, you’ll never feel in the dark again. With the Full Color Night Vision, the LED lights will stay on, giving you maximum visibility. The Black and White Night Vision doesn’t use the LED lights, and while you’ll be able to see, details won’t be as clear. Our favorite was the Smart Night Vision, which is a combination of the two above. The video will be black and white by default, however it will switch to color when motion is detected, and also record in color. EZVIZ has thought about everything, they’ve designed a compact camera that is stylish, weatherproof, and user-friendly. The C8C is a great smart camera for any novice who is new to the home security world. It’s not intimidating, easy to use, and looks fantastic.
