MD: What do you like most about CorelDRAW Graphics Suite?
PP: CorelDRAW offers so many powerful tools to handle any design situation that creating in CorelDRAW is extremely efficient. Editing lines and nodes is very intuitive compared to other editors, and mixing and matching colors with the Command key is a real time saver. I also love the ability to blur vector objects - it’s just magical! When it comes to my favorite features, I’d have to say that B-Spline and Smear win out because of their ease of use and creativity.
MD: How do you feel about CorelDRAW compared to other design software on the market?
PP: I have tried many design programs, and although CorelDRAW has some strong competitors, I feel it can handle most design tasks. Because CorelDRAW supports so many resolutions and file formats, it’s a good choice for designers looking for a complete graphics solution that can handle virtually all of their clients’ design tasks without having to learn or buy multiple single-purpose tools.
MD: What advice would you give up-and-coming artists?
PP: Beginning artists should paint and draw by hand as much as possible. It’s also helpful to build a solid knowledge base through traditional training and familiarize yourself with classic design themes like linear and aerial perspective to refine and strengthen your skills. With this basic knowledge, graphics software will easily become a tool you can use to take your designs to the next level.
