Apple Announces Brand-New iPad with 20% Faster A13 Bionic, Center Stage, and Double the Storage By Sergio Velasquez Apple just revealed a new update to the original iPad. Although it wasn’t such a big update, especially compared to the new iPad mini, the original iPad is now faster, has better cameras, and comes with many features that it really needed. Apple’s new iPad will now feature the A13 Bionic chip. This, according to Apple, will make the new iPad three times faster than the best-selling Chromebook and up to six times faster than the best-selling Android tablet. Apple also confirmed that this new processor would make the iPad up to 20% faster. Not only that, but the A13 Bionic chip will also improve the picture quality taken from both the front and rear cameras. “iPad has never been more essential for working, learning, and communicating, and we’re excited to bring one of the biggest updates ever to our most popular iPad. In addition to the new chip, the original iPad also features a new front-facing camera. The new iPad now has a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera that supports Center Stage. Center Stage is a feature that automatically detects any person in the front-facing camera and will focus on them. If there is more than one person, the iPad will automatically adjust to focus everyone on the screen. Center Stage will work on FaceTime and other third-party apps, including Zoom, TikTok, and Double Take. Along with the new camera, the iPad will also have a 10.2-inch Retina display with True Tone that will automatically adjust the color hues and display temperature based on the environment and illumination. Unfortunately for many iPad fans, the new iPad will continue to support the first-generation Apple Pencil, making it one of the only iPads that still support the older version instead of the second-generation Apple Pencil. The new iPad will start at $329 and will come in Space Gray and Silver. It’ll also start with 64 GB—double the storage compared to the previous model.
