function in WhatsApp that lets you reply directly to any message in the chat. Now with threads, you can also reply directly to a message in the Message app. It’s a simple way to avoid confusion in conversations, especially if there are a bunch of people in a group chat. You can look at it as a mini conversation inside a conversation. 1. To do this, long-press (or double-tap) on the message. 2. Tap Reply. 3. Then type your answer. 8. Call out a Person with a Mention The Messages app also supports mentions. Mentioning someone’s name in a message is an easy way to draw attention to them. They will even receive a notification if they’ve silenced that particular chat conversation. It is helpful during busy group conversations but also works in one-on-one chats. • You can use this by typing the person’s name in a message and then tapping the contact name when it appears above your keyboard. • You can also use “@” and then type the name of the person. See Images and Attachments In addition to text messages, the Messages app also allows you to send photos, videos, and attachments. The “attachments” category is quite broad: from office documents to sound files. You can send almost anything in a message. 1. All you need to do is tap on the contact name at the top of the chat and then tap the “i” icon. 2. At the bottom, you’ll see a breakdown of types of attachments. 5. Send Handwritten Notes In photos, you can find all the images and videos that are shared, and for all others, there are separate categories such as links, documents, and locations. You can tap on anything and see all the files that a person has sent you. It’s possible to send handwritten messages on the Message app. Instead of using the keyboard, you can use
