As you would imagine, the Loudness Meter is also now part of Audition. Along with measuring sound, the program now has a smart way to identify silence. The Strip Silence feature identifies and optionally removes periods of silence in a track. It has the ability to recognize background noise (to a degree) and evaluate a clip so you can tweak the settings it uses to identify dead spots. You also have a variety of presets to cut right to the chase and get it done. The really big deal with Audition is that it now runs natively on M1 Macs, making all these new tools considerably snappier if you’re fortunate enough to be running on Apple’s new silicon. Whether they’ll be doing it from home or inside the towers, Adobe will soon be preparing for their annual big event this fall, where we can expect even more news on what surprises the company has in store for its many users.
