collection of Creative Cloud icon pillows were out in force, however. Not Quite the Same With all the benefits of attending MAX virtually, some of the best elements of the live annual event couldn’t be reproduced. There could be no exhibition hall where you had the opportunity to get some hands-on time with Adobe’s and other vendors’ latest products. Even with all the work Adobe put into creating the absolute best online experience for attendees, it wasn’t quite the same as experiencing the tremendous lengths Adobe goes to make MAX one of the most comfortably human-engineered tech conferences to attend, with its great food, soft places to sit, relax, and chat, and guides everywhere helping you get to where you need to go (no mean feat in the sprawling L.A. Convention center). What was likely most missed were the wonderful interactions of the live event, chance encounters, planned meet-ups, and general schmoozing, the kind of thing that could never be reproduced online. One key thing didn’t change. At the end of three days, you still felt motivated, inspired, and possibly even refocused. This year, we all left without any difficult goodbyes, but with a renewed dedication to the work we do, the ideas we need to express, and not a little gratitude for the tools we get to use to make the best use of our many and varied talents.
