Many homes are installed with wired alarm systems, but just because the installation exists doesn't mean that the alarm is working. In fact, in order for these wired alarms to work, it requires homeowners to pay a monthly fee. With Konnected you'll be able to take advantage of this installation, turn your alarm system into a smart one, and avoid paying those monthly fees—forever. The Konnected Alarm Panel Complete Kit comes with everything you need. After a simple hardware replacement your alarm system will automate and integrate with smart home integrated products and apps using SmartThings, Home Assistant, Hubitat or OpenHab. The first thing to do is identify how many zones your current wired alarm system is connected to. There are kits available for 6 zones, 12 zones, 18 zones, and even 24 zones. Each zone will correspond to a part of the house, like a front door or windows, or motion sensors. The installation is very simple. After you have identified the number of zones you have and identified to what each zone corresponds to, it's a great idea to label the cables so that you don't get confused when you have 15 cables in your hand. Labeling will help you stay organized! Be sure to disconnect the power to your old alarm from the wall before you start removing any wires. Konnected works great with the SmartThings app, but before you even get to that point, you'll have to import the Konnected smart app and device handlers into SmartThings. Once it's added, you can launch it and then pair it with your new installed Konnected smart alarm system. After it's connected, you'll be able to name each zone on the app. Then, when a window or door is open the alarm will activate and you'll get a notification on your phone as well as hear a beep—be sure to set up this feature in SmartThings. Under automation you can also make it so that when no one is home, the alarm will be armed automatically. And when a family member returns it will disarm on its own. This is a simple set up on the app, and as long as all family members have a smartphone, the app will be able to identify their presence. We were very impressed with what Konnected has to offer. Upgrading your old alarm system and turning your home into a smart home is now possible with Konnected. Be patient, follow the steps, and don't rush. The more time you spend on it, the better end result you'll get. For more information, visit: www.konnected.io
