laid-out LDC display at your fingertips. The jog/shuttle knob serves triple duty. A second press on the Jog button will put the knob in shuttle mode. The knob also is used to scroll through the logically-built menu hierarchy. What it does lack are fast- forward and rewind controls that are on the larger HyperDecks, but in the world of file-based recording and playback, those controls are becoming a bit passé. Like its larger siblings, it's designed to be a self-sufficient, standalone device, as either a playback source or the box that you're going to trust to capture your day's work. That being said, An RS-422 connector provides the option of traditional serial remote control while the PoE+ Ethernet connector is all you need to integrate the Studio Mini into a Blackmagic ATEM production system. The same network port now supports FTP file transfers of up to 110 Megabytes/second, thanks to the 7.1 update. With its diverse recording formats, you can go straight from the Mini to popular streaming services as well as your post production setup.
