Once assembled, the size and weight of the box make sense. While it seemed large, the footprint of the premium was comparable to that of my older, far less comfortable desk chair. The six-spoke aluminum base is particularly hefty, featuring double-wheeled, oversized rollers that glide across hard floors and rugs alike. The base’s metallic shine gives the chair a classy look that would be welcome in any office or studio. Meanwhile, the custom PU leather upholstery across the entire front and back, plus some tasteful AKRacing branding make this equal parts board room and game room appropriate. Side supports taken from the race car heritage keep you centered in the seat, without feeling like they are wrapping around you. The cold cured foam is durable and soft, and promises to maintain its shape and comfort longer than antiquated heated foam methods. Pay attention to the sizing guide, as AKRacing stresses fit is very important to your prolonged comfort. At 5’10” tall and about 160 pounds, the medium-sized Premium chair fits great, without a lot of wiggle room (they even offer a specific line of chairs for larger requirements).
