iOS 13 It seemed suitable that at WWDC, Craig Federighi would be introduced by just his first name (twice). He lauded the significant performance improvements worked into the OS. However, the new Mojave-like dark mode was greeted by collective ooh’s and aah’s from the crowd. It is really pretty on an iPhone and just kind of looks right. Type-and-swipe typing is also finally coming to the phone. She will use an entirely artificial and, strangely enough, more natural sounding neural text-to-speech system. The voice is entirely generated by software and her speech is now as smooth as Alexa. Next question: will she understand us any better?
