GUIDES MacDirectory 129 The Master Series thermoses from Stanley are the epitome of the perfect Father's Day gift. These canisters look badass, feel badass, and will keep Dad's coffee hot for literal days. Stanley has been inventing and designing thermoses for over 100 years, so the Master Series comes with a lot of credibility, not to mention a lifetime warranty. The new Master Series comes in three different sizes—a large 1.4 quart, medium 25-ounce, and small 18 travel mug. All share the same durable, insulating materials and technology to keep beverages hot. At the core of the Master Series is 1.0mm 18/8 stainless steel and Stanley's Quadvac technology that creates four vacuum insulated layers in every thermos. Even the lids are steel lined to keep plastics away from the drinks. Each of the canisters is covered in a highly textured black ceramic coating that feels great to the touch. All these materials are dishwasher safe, making the Master Series easy to maintain. The largest of the trio, the 1.4-quart thermos has some serious weight to it. All that stainless steel does not come light. Tipping the scales at 2.9 pounds, it will keep liquids hot for an unreal 40 hours plus. A rubber-coated steel handle adds some much needed leverage, and a steel- Master Series by Stanley lined pour through stopper means you don't even have to remove the lid to freshen up your coffee. Even the cap/cup is vacuum insulated stainless steel—to keep your drinks hot and your hands not—and has a rubber bottom to keep it from slipping around. The 25-ounce thermos shares a lot of the same properties with its big brother, including the steel cup and pour through stopper. At 2 pounds, however, it's slightly more manageable and doesn't require an additional steel handle. Stanley claims the middle sibling keeps beverages hot for 27 hours. The smallest of the group, the 18-ounce mug, is meant 2 for travel. It is small enough to fit in car cup holders, and its lid features an integrated loop for clipping to packs or easily carrying into the shop with one finger. It's just over a pound, and will still get Dad through the whole day, keeping drinks hot for 12 hours. If Dad just has to have his hot beverages, consider gifting him the thermos to end all thermoses, the Stanley Master Series. He won't be disappointed, and he may even get a couple of jealous glances from the other dads at work. For more information, visit: www.stanley-pmi.com
