70 MacDirectory REVIEW The striking jacket is at once thick and light, durable and soft, casual and refined. The stretch cotton from Spain has a truly unique feel, and you'll no doubt get compliments and comments on its texture from strangers and friends alike. The versatile fabric makes The Shop Jacket durable enough for actual shop conditions, though its closely tailored look begs to be shown off. Its front is adorned with three different pairs of pockets, two envelope pockets, two flap pockets with snaps, and two inward-facing zippered pockets (a Mission Workshop trademark?). Reader take note, there are no standard outward-facing hand pockets here, which takes some getting used to, but results in a close-fitting, very clean look. Most of the time, I wore The Shop Jacket like you might a denim jacket—except The Shop Jacket looks and feels much nicer. Paired with a t-shirt or a button down (it goes great with The Hayes), it's a very versatile piece to have in your closet. It's great for taking the chill off a cool summer night, keeping on in the office, or biking to the bar. The Mission Workshop's skill and experience making cycling bags is reflected in the quality and craftsmanship of the rest of their products. This choice in textiles is especially impressive, and I expect both The Hayes and The Shop Jacket to be staples in my wardrobe for years to come. For more information, visit: www.missionworkshop.com
