56 MacDirectory REVIEW GAMES BY MARY PYEFINCH Wolf Among Us: Cry Wolf – Telltale Games (Mac) Cry Wolf is the final episode in a five episode series based on Fables comic book series. The story is a violent, hard-boiled thriller, reminiscent of a noir detective novel ala Dashiell Hammet. The characters and creatures of myth, lore and legend are real, and exist in one world. In this game, your choices will change and define the story you experience. Every choice has consequences good and bad. There is strong storytelling here and the characters are interesting and real. Bigby is the Big Bad Wolf of fable legend. He is the sheriff of Fabletown, a part of Manhattan where the characters of myth, legend, and lore live after being chased out of their worlds. You are Bigby and you must solve a murder that leads you to confront a powerful enemy. But when hidden truths are revealed, you must decide exactly what justice means in this thrilling season finale. It is the third installment in the War for Cybertron series and the fourth installment in the movie game series. Players will choose from over 40 playable characters from the two different universes as they battle to secure the Dark Spark. The Dark Spark jumps worlds and factions as it weaves the tale of the hunt for an ancient relic as powerful as the Matrix of Leadership - the Dark Spark. Players will be able to switch between the heroes of the noble Autobus and the nefarious Decepticons throughout the single-player campaign. There is a new unlock system that allows players to unlock rewards that aid progression in both modes. The storyline is a prequel to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and a sequel to the film Transformers: Age of Extinction. So if you have enjoyed this series you will like Rise of the Spark. It is a unique game and people are calling it a rogue-like platform fighting game. The game is set in 19th century Chile and has an Art Nouveau feel. A powerful warlock has drifted into a deep coma-like sleep. His nightmares are becoming real. All the monsters from his dreams are rising up to the world above. To play, you choose a hero avatar (Katrien, Pinncoy or Ghost Monk). You must enter and fight your way down to the abyss and wake up the warlock. When you kill an enemy you capture its soul and adopt its appearance to use its kill skill. You can play the game alone or in a co-op mode. This is a game that you will want to play over again. It is both like and unlike any game that you have played. It is intoxicating. Teen Rating http://abyssodyssey.com/abysspage.html The Sniper Elite 3 – Rebellion – (Xbox 360) The third game of Sniper Elite takes players to the deadly and exotic terrain of WW2's North Africa conflict, in a battle against a deadly new foe. It is quite a change from Sniper Elite 2's dark location of a bombed out Berlin. However, the terrain gets boring after awhile due to all that sand. This game is all about Tiger tanks and of course, the sniper's rifle. The other weaponry feels unrealistic. The enemy is Germany's infamous Afrika Korps that have the Allies outnumbered and outgunned. If the sniper can't take out the Afrika Korps and their secret weapon, then all is lost. The story is undeveloped and its sole purpose is to set up the sniper events. However, the sniper action is exciting and when the sniper kills the enemy, the X-ray kill camera gets every bone breaking and blood spurting moment. Total game play is around nine hours. http://www.rebellion.co.uk/
