KO-Z SNPR MID by Deckers x Lab From the minds that brought you UGG boots and Hoka One One all-terrain running shoes comes a new line of treats for your feet from Deckers x Lab. Focused on responsibly evolving active footwear, Deckers x Lab has options for running, recovery, everyday use, and even shoes that are good for all three! The KO-Z SNPR MID is an amazing shoe for after your run. Built with recovery in mind, this shoe is ultra-comfortable, super plush, and still supportive. The SNPR refers to the shoe’s motivations—SNeaker, sliPper, and Recovery—though it is ultimately built on a running shoe foundation (or a ‘running last,’ as they say in the industry). Much of the design and material selection has been done with multi-modal use in mind, and while yes, these are perfect for runners putting in miles on their feet every day, they also make for an extremely comfortable slipper and casual shoe for the rest of us. Deckers X Lab chooses its materials with ecological sustaining intention, and the KO-Z SNPR MID features sheepskin and suede out the outside. It’s a luxurious look and feel, and as is readily apparent with any single picture, there are plenty of aesthetic design choices to take advantage of those rich materials. Broad, exposed stitching, bright, contrasting color combinations, and wool accents (on the outside!) will be sure to turn some heads when you wear these outside. The interior of the shoe features a sumptuous lining made with 80% recycled wool. The natural properties of the wool regulate your foot temperature just how you want it, keeping things warm when it is cold outside and allowing cool breathability when things warm up. The moisture wicking aspects and overall feel also mean that the KO-Z SNPR MID wants to be worn with or without socks. I’ll let you decide which feels better... Included with every pair of Deckers x Lab shoes are two sets of insoles. In the case of the KO-Z SNPR MID, both have the same wool cover for the footbed, and let you find the fit and support that works best for you. Pro tip: whichever insole you don’t end up using makes the perfect upgrade for another pair of your shoes! The thick, slightly oversized soles featured here look ‘chunky’ but are actually very light weight and offer a ton of support and stability—combined with the high ankle mid support and the stiffer form, and these shoes are actually healthy for your feet and much better than a flimsy pair of slippers or casual shoes. Three layers of foam with varying degrees of softness give you more cushion than you deserve, while a thin rubber layer with a hexagonal pattern runs the full length of the bottom of the shoe. Loops on the front and back of the ankle opening make it easy to slip into the KO-Z SNPR MID, and extra padding on the lower heel makes it easy not to slip out of them unexpectedly. Whether you are looking for something more appropriate to nurse your feet back to health after a long run, or you just want a great looking pair of comfortable shoes for the house and walking your dog, the KO-Z SNPR MID from Deckers x Lab is a great choice. Made with sustainable materials and in factories that support women via the HERproject, human society and your conscience will thank you! If you’re looking for something a little more, umm, active, Deckers x Lab brings the same ethos, design, and material choices to their other footwear. Check out the X-SCAPE line if you are looking for something more sneaker-esque, or consider the KO-Z SNPR in low rise or chukka versions for a little variety.
