Now, even if it’s wet and retaining heat, it’s still less comfortable than being dry, so Icebreaker uses a recycled polyester shell treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish. My vanity still gets the better of me, so I appreciate that the MerinoLoft Collingwood Hooded Jacket packs all that warmth and insulation into a package that doesn’t look bulky or puffy. About five horizontal channels keep everything in place and laying flat. The hood and sleeves have no exterior ornamentation, presenting a pretty clean look for a jacket that is so serious about its heat retention.
