Audiophile Approved LCDi3 by Audeze By Thomas Bender The LCDi3’s from Audeze are a pair of open-back, planar magnetic, in-ear-monitors. It’s a design that sounds like a contradiction, but the more time I spent with them, the more I came to understand their use and the real value that they offer. At the end of the day, the LCDi3’s are an amazing option for music lovers looking for (listening for?) an incredible audio experience without the bulk of high end over-the-ear headphones. The LCDi3’s take full advantage of their unique design to create an enormous soundstage and listening experience from such a small package. That is thanks to the Audeze signature sound, the large drivers packaged into these in-ear-monitors, and the cables used with the LCDi3’s that include an in-line digital-to-analog converter (DAC).
