Apple Will Replace Defective AirPods Pro for Free in New Service Program By Kelly Hodgkins Having audio issues with your AirPods Pro? Then you may be eligible to have them replaced under a new Apple service program. Apple recently updated its website with details on this new replacement program. Whether you are having issues or not, all AirPods owners should review this information, so they know what to expect if they have problems in the future. The recent worldwide service program is extensive, covering all AirPods Pro units manufactured before October 2020. It addresses AirPods with audio issues, including the following: 1. Crackling or static sounds that increase in loud environments, with exercise, or while talking on the phone 2. Active Noise Cancellation is not working as expected, such as a loss of bass sound or increased background sounds, such as street or airplane noise. Customers can take their AirPro Pro units to an Apple Store or an authorized service provider. Customers can also contact Apple support to arrange for the faulty AirPods to be evaluated. If an issue is discovered in either the left, right, or both AirPod units, Apple will replace them for free. Only the AirPods themselves will be replaced and not the AirPods Pro charging case which is not involved in the audio problem. Apple did not disclose what was changed in the most recent models that will fix this issue. This replacement program is in effect for two years after the purchase date and only covers the audio issues mentioned above. It does not extend the standard one-year warranty coverage Apple offers for the AirPods Pro. This program also does not apply to other AirPods models, only the Pro units manufactured before October 2020.
