HEXBAND Cinch Lock by OTTOLOCK OTTOLOCK’s first Kickstarter campaign aimed to make bike locks lightweight and tough. They delivered on their campaign promises with their original lock, and are back this year with a newer and improved model, the HEXLOCK Cinch Lock. The HEXLOCK builds on the innovative design of the original, increasing the security in a couple of key areas. The HEXLOCK now has two-and-a-half times as much steel as its predecessor, with six steel bands creating the core of the lock. These bands are wrapped in Kevlar and covered in a Santoprene scratch-resistant outer layer to increase protection and ensure that the lock stays looking good. The Cinch Lock gets its name from the locking mechanism that works a lot like a ski boot or rollerblade binding. Insert the loose end of the band through the locking mechanism, and crank until tight. A satisfying click accompanies the cinch lock as its tightened. To unlock, enter your resettable, three-digit code and you’re on your way. No keys to lose or preset combinations to remember. The HEXLOCK—which is available in three sizes up to 60”—comes in multiple colors and its lightweight design allow it to be easily mounted to any bicycle. Right below the saddle is the perfect place for this little lock! The HEXLOCK is perfect for quick stops, grabbing a coffee, or added security inside or in addition to another lock. It’s not designed to single-handedly keep your bike safe for a week in the city, but its security-to-weight ratio can’t be beat. And it’s not just for bikes, either! Use the HEXLOCK on the roof rack, to secure tools, skis, or any other expensive gear. Dad is sure to appreciate this easy-to-use lock for whatever he holds dear.
