Apple Watch Straps by UAG Urban Armor Gear, or UAG as they typically go by, is known for protecting Apple devices. Usually its subjects are phones, tablets, and laptops with their heavy duty cases built to withstand life’s greatest inconveniences. However, with their new line of Apple Watch Straps, UAG aims to extend that renown protection to your Dad’s favorite smartwatch. So if Pop keeps an Apple Watch on his wrist, upgrade his protection and style with a new strap from UAG. UAG is releasing three different types of bands for those who require the extra durability. The Leather and Active bands are available now, with the third strap, the Nato, coming soon. Both watch straps currently available feature heavy duty stainless steel hardware, including the fasteners that connect to the Apple Watch itself. These fasteners feel great, with smooth action and a satisfying click that may even best Apple’s own bands. The Leather strap is available in brown or black, with very clean tooling and stitching all the way around. Additional padding adds extra durability and comfort to the wrist strap, providing a nice looking raised effect that matches the rounded rise of the Apple Watch quite nicely. The end of the strap side has a small rivet on it that snaps onto the buckled side, keeping the end of the watch band cleanly out of the way –this is a great touch that should make its way to more watches. The Active band features the same stainless steel Apple Watch connection components, with a nylon weave strap design that might be the most durable band available. The nylon strap is both thick and wide—it’s definitely going to stay put and last a while. The ultimate in Apple Watch straps is quite sizable, and especially noticeable if you opt for the bright orange color. Additionally, the Active strap comes in black (which matches the deep blacks of the Apple Watch very well), and a dark camouflage pattern. Either strap is a great gift for Dad, and the quality materials and construction mean that the strap will probably outlast the watch for years to come.
